Dr. Jenny Chang was born in Taiwan but grew up in Waterloo. She received a Bachelor of Science from McGill University in 2015 and then went on to graduate on the Dean’s Honours List as a Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 2019.
Her interest in optometry sparked with her research on increasing the effectiveness of drug-delivering eyedrops with Frank Gu Research Group. With a background in research, she plans on staying up to date with the newest and upcoming optometric technologies. Jenny had the privilege of receiving advanced training in treatment and management of ocular disease at the Veterans Affairs Medical Centre in Lexington, Kentucky. She gained valuable experience in diagnosis and management of diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and age related macular degeneration.
Jenny prides herself in thorough patient education and enjoys practicing full scope optometry. She strives to learn every day and to use her knowledge to advocate for patients’ eye-health; and is excited to do this for her home community. When not working, Jenny enjoys spending time with family, travelling and her passion – salsa dancing
